The NHS is the world’s fifth largest employer, with services spanning the country, a budget of almost £200 billion and an estimated vulnerability to fraud, bribery and corruption of some £2 billion. This panel will discuss how the NHS is seeking to prevent and recover losses attributable to fraud. Topics will include use of AI fraud detection initiatives, how the new offence of failure to prevent fraud is likely to be used and how competition law is keeping one of the world’s largest markets for drugs in check. The panel is likely to be of interest to General Counsel in large corporates and those supplying the NHS.
