Join Us for an Exclusive Panel Discussion: "Securing the Future: Strengthening England and Wales’ International Position"

Recognized for the stability and quality of our courts, laws, and legal professionals, the England and Wales legal system contributes approximately £60 billion to the UK economy annually and generates around £7.25 billion in exports.

In the context of increased global risks the health, strength, reputation and reach of this jurisdiction is increasingly important to its consumers and its legal professionals. This panel discussion will look to investigate what makes England and Wales a respected jurisdiction, what challenges it faces, how it might meet those challenges and what the future holds.

Following a welcome from the President of the Law Society, Richard Atkinson, Sarah Murray, member of the Law Society’s International Advisory Committee and Head of Commercial Litigation at Stevens & Bolton, will chair a panel made up of:

Ahmed Abdel Hakam - Partner at Volterra Fietta (Arbitration & International Litigation), Solicitor-Advocate (England & Wales) & Avocat au Barreau de Paris

Alex Gunning KC - Barrister at One Essex Court; and

Ajneet Jassey – GC for Litigation & Contentious Regulatory at Lloyds Banking Group.

This event will be immediately followed by the Law Society’s International Reception, for which separate booking is necessary via the Law Society’s website.
